Fuel efficiency, performance and convenience all come standard with the 50-state compliant Jetta sedan and SportWagen TDI, which meet the most stringent emissions standards in California and the world. Both models will be available this August.

The three liter diesel engine by the Volkswagen group is exactly the right engine for the Touareg and the Q7; the torquey engine gives the elegant 2.5-ton SUVs great momentum. Even more so with Power S by ABT Sportsline, as Power S increases the diesel’s performance from serial 225hp/165kW (Touareg) and 233hp/171kW (Q7) to impressive 300hp/221kW. This concept car runs on just 3.4 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres. The 150-PS Passat Estate TSI EcoFuel, also debuting in Geneva, represents a technology leap for automobiles run on natural gas. Other Volkswagen world premieres will be the extremely fuel-efficient Sharan BlueMotion (6.0 litres per 100 km) and the four-wheel-drive Golf Estate 4Motion. For me the Tiguan can’t come out soon enough. It’s the perfect commuter vehicle for my needs, and then Abt comes around and makes it better. If I was rich (not insane rich just really well off) I would have an Abt treated all-wheel drive diesel Tiguan as my daily driver and then a 73 Super Duty Trans Am as my fun car, or maybe 70-73 Trans Am with an LS7 out of the new Z06 Vettes and a 6 speed. Insane rich is a whole other story, but you get the point. Anyway, I’ll let Abt introduce their version of the Tiguan to you below.
