With a gap of only 0.09 seconds, Audi driver Dindo Capello (Italy) claimed the pole position for round nine of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) at Mosport (Canada). Team mate Emanuele Pirro (Italy) drove the second Audi R10 TDI to the third fastest time overall and starts as the second fastest driver in the LM P1 category.

The BQ-9000 biodiesel quality assurance program is becoming the international leader in biodiesel quality assurance. Canadian Bioenergy Corporation has recently become the first BQ-9000 Certified Marketer of biodiesel in Canada. BQ-9000 is a voluntary fuel quality assurance program, adopted by the National Biodiesel Board and the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association.

With international interest in the program, biodiesel consumers in both the U.S. and other nations have begun to search for fuel accordingly.

DaimlerChrysler’s Dodge and Jeep truck divisions will expand their diesel engine offerings in 2007, with the Dodge ram pickup trucks to become the first Chrysler Group vehicles to benefit from parent company Mercedes-Benz’s ultra-clean BLUETEC diesel engine technology.

The 2007 Dodge ram 2500 and 3500 series heavy duty pickups will be fitted with a new 6.7-litre Cummins turbo diesel engine that uses a self-cleaning diesel particulate filter designed to “virtually eliminate particulate matter emissions” (aka soot) and an exhaust catalyst that the company says reduces oxides of nitrogen — known as NOx — by up to 90 per cent. The new engine replaces the 5.9-litre Cummins turbo diesel that was available in 2006 Ram 2500 and 3500 models.
