WASHINGTON, DC–(Marketwire - June 29, 2007) - Today, Fuel Frontiers, Inc. (FFI), a subsidiary of Nuclear Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB: NSOL), issued the following status update for its proposed waste to ultra-clean synthetic diesel production facilities.
Initially, FFI’s efforts to develop waste-to-fuel plants were focused on the production of synthetic ethanol. However, since the January 2007 engagement of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. to potentially lead a bond offering for the construction of a waste-to-ethanol synthesis plant in New Jersey, the company has shifted the fuel production target to ultra-clean synthetic diesel, retained Westinghouse Plasma Corporation (WPC) for the design and engineering of the plasma gasification system, and selected Shaw Stone & Webster (SS&W) as the plant Engineer-Constructor.

London, June 27: A US company is taking recycling to another level - turning back plastics into the oil they were made from, and gas.
Global Resource Corporation (GRC) claims the process requires only a finely tuned microwave that uses 1200 different frequencies within the microwave range, which act on specific hydrocarbon materials, and a mix of materials made from oil to reduce the product back to oil, a combustible gas, and a few leftovers.

Check out this promo video of the new BMW 635d. While a very quiet car you can still hear the distinctive diesel sound as it idles and drives. Of course that’s only from the outside. When inside the car you can’t hear a peep. Definitely a quality ride and hopefully a future option for us in The States.

Tyson Foods Inc., the biggest U.S. meat processor, and Syntroleum Corp. formed a joint venture to produce fuel from animal fat and vegetable oil in response to growing demand for energy from renewable sources.
The venture’s first project will be a $150 million (U.S.) plant that can produce 284 million litres a year of synthetic fuel for the renewable diesel, jet and military markets, the companies said in a statement. The plant, at a yet-to-be-chosen site, is expected to be operational in 2010, providing annual operating profit of $35 million to $60 million a year.
Tyson chief executive officer Richard Bond in April announced a plan with ConocoPhillips to jointly develop diesel fuel from about half the 1 billion kilograms of animal fat Tyson produces a year. That venture would boost yearly earnings by four cents to 16 cents a share once full production starts in 2009, Tyson said at the time.

Chrysler has outlined some of the line items on their ambitious $3 billion plan to bolster the fuel efficiency of the company’s engines and vehicles.
Frank Klegon, executive vice president for product development, said the company pushed ahead with the investments on the assumption that fuel economy standards were going to get tougher.
The technology behind the push - from diesel engines, to cylinder deactivation and new lightweight axles - reflects Chrysler’s continuing dependence on Mercedes-Benz for new technology and technical assistance. Except for the hybrids in the new lineup, Mercedes-Benz had a hand in several of the technical initiatives Chrysler announced, Chrysler officials acknowledged.
