“Is Diesel set to boom in the US?”

Not if the EPA and CARB continue to have this harmful fetish with stupidly low NOx emissions.

Diesels are already (and have been for years) far cleaner than equivalent size gas engines except in two categories, NOx and particulates.

Who said hybrids are green? They are slow, cheaply made, have lots of hazardous batteries, get mediocre MPG, and still put out more emissions than diesels in some categories. Why should I get excited about a car that I won't enjoy driving, will cost much more money than it saves to repair, and gets less MPG than a non-hybrid Diesel????
