SEOUL — Hyundai plans to sell a clean diesel engine in the United States in 2009 or 2010.
The company’s first V-6 diesel, called the S-engine, will be offered on the Veracruz mid-sized crossover, says Dong Jin Kim, CEO of Hyundai Motor Co.
The 3.0-liter diesel already is available on Veracruz models sold in Europe and Korea. But it does not meet U.S. standards for all 50 states.
