At the Geneva Motor Show Volkswagen is presenting a generation of the Phaeton that is equipped with numerous technical innovations. Modifications and new equipment details will already flow into ongoing production starting at the end of May.

The Bundesrat, the upper chamber of the federal German parliament, approved on 9 May a tax incentive scheme whereby from 1 April, the federal government will offer a tax rebate to owners of older diesel cars who fit particulate filters.
Cars first registered before the end of 2006 and retrofitted with a particulate filter will be eligible for a one-off rebate on annual road tax of around €330. Conversely, excise duty will rise by about €25 a year for older, pre-Euro 4 diesel cars not fitted with a particulate filter.
The Audi R10 may have something to fear in the Le Mans this year. Peugeot is coming back to races and bringing its big guns.
