More Diesels in Racing. This Time it’s the First to Enter the British Touring Car Championship

A diesel-powered car will race in the British Touring Car Championship for the first time this year.

Rick Kerry has announced plans to race a BMW 1 Series in the championship for this season, using a turbo-charged diesel engine.

“We anticipate we’ll have a bit less power than the petrol cars, but much more torque away from the grid and out of the corners,” said Kerry.

Diesel sucking attempt ends suckily

That is the title of the article. This is only circumstantially diesel, but I was just amused enough by this Darwin Award candidate that I had to post it.

The writer of this story should also win some sort of journalistic award for writing as I can’t figure out what kind of car this actually is.
