Biodiesel Supply Can’t Meet Demand in Australia

reeFUEL, a biofuels company in north Queensland, will soon be expanding into Mossman as demand has outgrown supply. The new plant being built in Mossman will be in conjuction with Evergreen, a local company.

They hope to produce about 360,000 liters of biodiesel per week. Their biodiesel will be made from a mix of feedstock, coconut oil, and tallow. This is great for the local agricultural community, people’s health, and the economy.
“The environmental benefit, the offset of 2.7 kilograms of greenhouse emissions by using a litre of bio-fuel as opposed to using mineral diesels, [and] just the pure health benefits for those who are working around diesel engines,” said Mark Roberts, managing director of reeFUELS.
