LUXEMBOURG — (MARKET WIRE) — January 18, 2007 — A new type of diesel oil condition sensor, developed by Delphi Corporation (PINKSHEETS: DPHIQ), will help increase engine reliability, reduce warranty issues and bring further cost reductions for vehicle operators.
Compared with today’s diesel oil sensing technologies, the Delphi system will further extend oil and filter change intervals, reduce the quantity of oil for disposal and help maximise the time vehicles spend on the road.

Coming in the end of February, Saab will launch their new 9-3 convertible with diesel. Everything I’ve read seems to be that it will come out in Europe and Australia, and there is no mention of an American version.
The 9-3 convertible will be equipped with a 1.9L TiD engine churning out 150hp and 236ft-lbs of torque (110kW and 320Nm). Power will be delivered to the wheels from your choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with Saab Sentronic gear selection.

As the price of crude oil continues to decline to near $50 a barrel, diesel prices are also coming down.
The national average price for a gallon of diesel fell 7.4 cents for the week ending Monday, Jan. 15, 2007. Because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the U.S. Energy Information Administration posted the weekly averages on Tuesday.
Diesel in the Lower Atlantic region – one of nine regions that report to the EIA – fell 9 cents from $2.458 to $2.368 per gallon, which was the cheapest average price in the nation.
