Toyota Diesel Hybrid by 2010
November 19th, 2006
According to JapanToday.com, Toyota and Isuzu are planning on bringing out a diesel hybrid by 2010. There are currently diesel hybrid trucks, but there a still a few obstacles to putting the technology in a car.
The main obstacles to putting diesel hybrid technology in cars is size and cost. Toyota needs to shrink the physical size and the weight of an engine first off. Second the hybrid technology is still not cost-efficient to put in a car, and with the cost of batteries, may still be a few years off.
