See what happens when a writer takes his boss for a spin in the new E320.

From the Waxahachie Daily Light:

I took my boss to lunch earlier this week, as I had wanted to show him the new Mercedes-Benz E320, powered by the world’s most advanced diesel technology.

Of course, I didn’t tell him the E320 had a turbo diesel engine.

“Hey, this is a pretty nice car,” the boss said, as he started pushing buttons on the console and checking out all of the compartments.

As we pulled out onto the highway, I gunned the accelerator pushing the E320 up to highway speed in no time flat.

E320 Guy Meets BlueTec - Paris/Beijing Mercedes Diesel Rally

Stage 3 of the Paris-Beijing 2006 E Class Experience is now complete. The drivers reached Almaty, Kazakhstan on 6 November, 2006. Almaty is a city of tremendous growth. Building cranes everywhere. The average mile per gallon figures are out for the third leg of the trip and the Mercedes diesels are getting some amazing fuel economy. One team got 47.9 MPG for one day of this leg and another average almsot 41 MPG for the entire 3rd leg. The eco-friendliness and power of the new BlueTec diesel has impressed the E320guy.

New Dodge Diesel is Turning Up the Pressure on the Competition

Dodge Logo - DieselHeavy-duty action is heating up in the pickup arena. Each of the Big Three is fielding a new or revised diesel engine, beefed up to grind it out in the marketplace.

All are powerful and capable, but Dodge believes its new 6.7-liter Cummins inline six-cylinder turbo-diesel, available in 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 models in January, stacks up well against its formidable competitors. The engine also marks a big evolutionary step from the 5.9-liter turbo-diesel it replaces.

BMW Bringing Diesel 335d to the Races

I’m just thinking there has to be a reason they want to bring the diesel into American races.

Seems everyone’s racing diesels these days. Audi won the vaunted 24 Hours of Le Mans with its diesel-powered R10, and now BMW plans to run two 335d sedans in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill endurance race in California in early December.
