Changes to the Existing ASTM Specification for Biodiesel Designed to Ensure Continued Reliability

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.– ASTM International has released a new standard for biodiesel that will help ensure that biodiesel blends of up to 20 percent will be compatible with future diesel exhaust emissions technology. The new standard, D 6751-06a, adds new limits on calcium and magnesium, which can be introduced during the biodiesel manufacturing process.

Overview

Wabuska Nevada is home to the world’s first geothermally powered and heated biodiesel plant, run by Infinifuel Biodiesel. In addition to biodiesel production facilities, the site provides oilseed storage, crushing and pressing facilities. We have over 300 acres to grow oilseed and develop algae ponds on site.

Location

Wabuska is in Lyon County Nevada. The nearest large population centers are: Reno, 68 miles northwest; Fernley, 34 miles north; and Carson City, 51 miles west.

Isuzu Denies Cutting Ties with GM

TOKYO, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Japanese truck maker Isuzu Motors Ltd. (7202.T: Quote, NEWS, Research) denied on Wednesday that it would ask General Motors Corp. (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) to pull out of two joint ventures that produce diesel engines and replace the U.S. auto maker with new partner Toyota Motor Corp. (7203.T: Quote, NEWS, Research).

“There is no discussion about this,” Isuzu spokesman Kouitsu Mabuchi said.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun business daily reported on Wednesday that Isuzu would ask former top shareholder GM to sell the 60 percent stakes it holds in Ohio-based venture DMAX Ltd. and Isuzu Motors Polska Sp. in Poland.
