Tuesday, administrators of Franklin and Wayne townships, in Indiana, announced they are switching to B20 biodiesel. The switch was done not only as an envronmental decision, but also a health decision.
“Those children are exposed to toxic fumes twice a day, 180 plus days a year. So are the bus drivers as they do their jobs and make their walk-around inspections of the buses,” said Susie Fields.
“All of the data highlighted the health and environmental issues. We have a lot of parents calling us about their asthmatic kids, arranging for alternative transportation. We just felt this was the right thing to do,” said Joyce West, Wayne Township Schools’ transportation director.
