Blue Sun Biodiesel Introduces Blue Sun Fusion(TM)
Superior Formula Addresses U.S. Biodiesel Quality Problems
DENVER, Nov. 7 — Today, Blue Sun Biodiesel launched a new and improved biodiesel fuel — Blue Sun Fusion, and not a minute too soon. According to a multi-year market research effort conducted by Blue Sun, the U.S. biodiesel industry continues to produce inferior biodiesel resulting in problematic fuel blends. So I was fueling up at the local station, and of course all the pumps were gas except for two. As I’m pumping diesel in, two guys in a truck pull up on the other side. A guy gets out and puts his credit card in then I hear him say to the other guy, “Dammit I think it’s broken.” So the other guy gets out and looks at the pump. I guess he figures it’s definitely broken and tells him to look at the side I’m on. So then I hear, “Figures I think this guy is on the oth” and then he turn to me perplexed, “Wait….Are you using diesel?” Me - “I should hope so.” “Huh….What is that? HEY COME CHECK THIS OUT.” And the other guy comes around. Me- “It’s a Diesel Jetta.” Other guy - “Nice, what kind of mileage do you get?” Me- “I usually get around 500-600 miles to the tank.” Now these guys are really looking at the car and seem impressed (I’m glad I just waxed it). “That’s a really nice car.” Me- “Thanks.” I’m starting to feeling pumped up and cool, which is of course the sign for diesel to come pouring out of the tank as it’s overfilled. Me- “SONUVA!” Suitably deflated I go find some paper towels.
On the plus side I just ordered a filter pack kit from tdiparts.com. Everything went great with the order and I got email confirmation it was put in the mail the same day. I received the parts today which is just two days later. I’ll be ordering a new tie rod from them soon.

The VW Tiguan is at the L.A. Auto Show this week sporting a shiny new BLUETEC engine. Unfortunately not much else was written on it so I can’t expand on the details, however, you can look at the styling of the baby Touareg.

PSA Peugeot group has recently announced their new class-leading diesel engine going into the 607 luxury sedan. This comes shortly after they introduced the new 2.0L HDi that is being used in their 307 model range.
Peugeot’s latest offering is a 2.2L twin-sequential turbocharged design. This new setup has two turbos mounted in parallel coupled with Peugeot’s advanced (FAP) particulate filter emissions system. The first turbo is smaller to help with low speed acceleration which is particularly helpful with start-stop city type driving conditions. The second works in parallel between 2,600 and 3,200 rpms to create great midrange power so you never have to worry about overtaking a slow car on the road.

Chevy’s new diesel is a common-rail design that puts out 119bhp and 207lf-bls.
The Lacetti will have two versions, the normal hatchback and the estate (or station wagon for all us Americans). You’ll average about 49.5mpg with the hatch, and 47mpg with the estate. CO2 emissions of 149g/km for the hatch and 154g/km will put it in the 19% and 21% company car tax respectively.
Pricing has not yet been announced.

A group of researchers from The University of Georgia have been working for more than a decade on ways to use altertantive fuel sources. The school evenhas it’s own Bio-Refinery, something not a lot of other facilities have. During a three day conference that kicked off Monday, they are teaching other people interested in Bio-Diesels how to make it, and how to make it right.
Just inside a labortary off White Hall Road in Athens lies one of The University of Georgia’s best kept secrets, unless you are one of the 20 or so researchers working on alternative fuel sources.
