Press Release: DENSO and Robert Bosch to Establish Joint Venture to Develop and Manufacture Diesel Particulate Filters

Kariya (Japan) / Stuttgart - DENSO Corporation, Kariya/Japan and Robert Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart/Germany, have agreed to set up a fifty-fifty joint venture in eastern Europe to develop and manufacture diesel particulate filters. The joint venture is planned for establishment in early 2007.

From 2009 onward, the joint venture partners plan to manufacture high performance and cost-effective diesel particulate filters made of cordierite and to market them separately. As a result of the Euro 5 emission standard for cars, DENSO and Bosch expect that particulate filters will become standard equipment for all new diesel-powered cars in Europe. Accordingly, it is also expected that the market for particulate filters will grow strongly.

New Ford Ranger Diesel……….for Europe.

Check out the 2007 Ford Ranger with a 2.5L Duratorq engine. It is a 16-valve DOHC turbo diesel engine with Bosch common-rail direct injection and a variable geometry turbocharger. It produces 141 hp (105 kW) and 243ft-lb of torque (330 Nm). And now wave byebye cause we’ll never see it in the U.S.

Using Renewable Energy to Make Renewable Energy

A new biodiesel production plant will be built in western New York that will be able to turn out 7.5 MMgy of biodiesel. One third of the power used for the plant will be able to come from a 250-kilowatt wind turbine nearby.

This project, Northern Biodiesel, was started by Jason Masters and Bob Bechtold. They will be able to produce any blend biodiesel requested, or sell 100% biodiesel also called B100. Northern Biodiesel will be housed in a former lumber warehouse.

Navistar to Build Heavy-Duty Diesel

Navistar International Corp. said its International Truck and Engine Corp. subsidiary has opted to build a planned new heavy-duty diesel engine at its facility in Huntsville, Ala. The Warrenville-based maker of trucks and diesel engines currently makes only medium and light-duty diesel engines. The company also makes diesel engines in Indianapolis and Melrose Park.
