Each company is set to invest $304 million into the project. The deal, however, will not be complete until Chinese regulators approve it.

The new venture will be able to produce 400,000 diesel engines, and will be producing a 2.8L and a 3.8L clean-diesel engine for the market.

Beiqi Foton is China’s largest light-duty truck maker and produced more than 310,000 vehicles in the last year.
