I’ll be getting be to regular posting on Tuesday

Sorry for the delay.  I spent most of the weekend in jail for a tollway violation years ago that I took care of 7 months ago.  Now I have to go back to a judge and try and get some of my money back cause if not it’ll be a little longer before I start my timing belt change as it’s cost me $904.

On the plus side I feel slightly better about my Jetta.  This morning this *insert favorite expletive here* cut me off and slammed on the breaks forcing me to quickly go to the right.  I went over two lanes to the right but I kept in control of the car thankfully.  I’m glad when I needed it my car handled fine.  I still want to upgrade to a GLI suspension and some 17″ wheels though just for a little more self assurance.

Anyway hopefully I can finish up my weekend work tonight and get back to this site.

I’m not sure you can get away with ‘jail’ as an excuse. I’ve heard that preventing you from accessing the internet is against your civil rights. ;-)

On the otherhand, the ‘jail’ point needs a bit more explaining as its not everyone that as that claim to put on their resume.

Needs some tight and lowering springs for your Jetta? Let me know as my nephew sold his VW A4 Jetta before he installing them. (they are still in the packaging and boxed in my shop; just ready to list it on the www.cincitdi.com group list)

Well I’ve actually visited a couple jails. The first time I had a ticket for registration that I couldn’t take care of at the time because I had been laid off. After I got a job the ticket had become a warrant and another fee for missing the court date, but I had a job now so I could take care of it.

Well one evening after a 12 hour day of work I turned on the service road for the highway and stopped quickly. There was a stack of cars the in both directions. So I did what probably a lot of people would and went reverse on the service road. The cop didn’t like it though. So I got pulled over and that’s when I was informed of the tollway violation warrant also. So I got to jail and called my aunt, who is a lawyer, and took a nap. Paid all the tickets, signed no contest for the tollway violation…..i’m done.

Fast forward awhile. Take a turn a little to sharp and the back tire barely touches the curb. Cop suspects me of being drunk and pulls me over. That’s when I find out that even though I signed no contest about the tollway violation I still had to call the judge(would have been nice if the jailer told me that when I signed asked him if when I sign this is there anything else I have to do). Back to jail I go. Since it’s midnight I figured I’d let everyone sleep and so I went to sleep and called my brother in the morning. My brother starts to come get me and I get transferred to the county jail. Long story short it took 7 hours to get all the paper work to pay the fines done after some of it was lost going from city to county. Not a fun weekend. And the web dev stuff I do on the side is now late. So I’ve slept a total of 12 hours since friday(5 of them were last night). But everything should be caught up now.

Oh and how much for the springs? Not sure if I’ll have the money anytime soon though since I just had to drop the $904.

(and for anyone wondering why i didn’t know about any of the tollway violations and subsequent warrants, they were going to an old address)

Enjoyed the ‘jailbird’story. :-)

I’m out of town but will snap a photo and ask my nephews how much for the springs. We might be using them as a CinciTDI fundraiser for our community toolbox if I can convince him to donate them … or at least half or something? Drop me an email to my included address and I’ll send you a photo on Friday when I get home.

Keep up the nice blog … I enjoyed reading about the ‘crankshaftless’ diesel!
